World of Pokèmon Day #13 – Mt. Moon/Akagi-Yama

The Akagi Mountain range stands proudly before all of Gunma, a huge landmark that cannot be ignored. After an hour bus journey we arrived 1342.5m above sea level at Lake Onuma, at the very heart of Akagi. Lake Onuma is perhaps the largest of the lakes hidden close to the summit of this range. The temperature is much cooler at this height and it’s quite a dramatic sight especially when the clouds roll in across its surface. World of Pokèmon Day #12 – Pewter City/Maebashi

Today we ventured into Maebashi to see what we could find. The city is the capital of the Gunma Prefecture which we think is the equivalent of a county in England. Only there doesn’t seem like there’s really too much going on. The centre is small with a few shops, cafes and bars lining the streets. There’s a huge building beside the river designated as the Gunma Prefecture Central Offices, dealing with all the goings on in the area. World of Pokèmon Day #11 – Arriving in Pewter City

After struggling through the showers of the past 3 days we’ve finally made it to Maebashi, the real world Pewter City. We’re tired and everything we own is damp from the rain but we have arrived in one piece. The next two days look to be nice and sunny so for now we simply rest before we go to see the sights the capital of the Gunma Prefecture has in store for us.
