It’s crazy to think that Pokémon has been around for 20 years now, and we’re getting quite a year of monster catching to celebrate. In the run up to the next major releases in the series, Pokémon Sun and Moon, … Continue reading The Original 151 Pokémon, 20 Years On…
Today March 5th, marks the second year anniversary of p4Ratchet. It’s an easy date to remember for me because it doubles as my brother’s birthday. The site has been a way to channel my interest in video games into something … Continue reading We’ve Been 2 Years on the Internet!
Giovanni sighed gravely. He loathed the state of his organisation. It was especially taxing to know that many of the members of his squad were indeed criminals. All sorts of people had flocked to his cause without much of an … Continue reading Pokémon Red and Blue – Team Rocket’s Boss – Part III of III
The most startling aspect of Pokémon’s legacy is simply that it was born perfect. The formula has received numerous bells and whistles over the years, but at its heart Pokémon is still the rock-paper-scissors, turn based RPG series it was … Continue reading Pokémon Red and Blue – Legacy
He peered through the blinds and gazed down at the streets of Saffron City below. Up on the 12th floor of the Silph Company building, he was able to see far across the Kanto region. He saw the white sails … Continue reading Pokémon Red & Blue – Team Rocket’s Boss – Part II of III

So we may have done Hakone over 3 weeks ago but to keep with the spirit of the games we can only now reveal the Gym Battle with Giovanni. He’s never been the toughest final Gym Leader ever, but I suppose originally the shocking reveal was enough to keep us players on guard. Still here it is the final battle for the final badge! Ratchet’s Line-up Venusaur Grass/Poison Gyarados Water/Flying Dugtrio Ground Jynx Ice/Psychic Hitmonlee Fighting Giovanni’s Line-up Rhydon Ground/Rock Dugtrio Ground Nidoqueen Poison/Ground Nidoking Poison/Ground Rhydon Ground/Rock Continue reading Battle for the Earth Badge – Ratchet vs. Giovanni: The Viridian City Gym Leader
So there we have it. After 30 days of travelling our adventure is over. We’re back in the United Kingdom and settling back into normality once more. Much sleep is still needed after our long day of travelling, but I do wonder how many days it’ll take before the urge to hit the road comes back. You never see Ash at home for more than a week it seems before he’s off to another region, I personally don’t think the guy can sit still. Better him than Red, who seems to prefer living alone in the mountains that going back … Continue reading World of Pokémon Day #30 – Kanto Complete – The End of Our Adventure
I never really think much to the Gym Battle with Blaine. Maybe it’s the fact you face him straight after a Fire Type based dungeon, or that he uses Growlithe and Ponyta in his team despite being the 7th Gym Leader in the region, or because you go on to face the final gym directly after this one, therefore making him somewhat foregattable. It’s just he’s never felt like a true challenge… Will this time be any different? Ratchet’s Line-up Hitmonlee Fighting Gyarados Water/Flying Dugtrio Ground Zapdos Electric/Flying Blaine’s Line-up Growlithe Fire Ponyta Fire Rapidash Fire Arcanine Fire Continue reading Battle for the Volcano Badge! – Ratchet vs Blaine: Cinnabar Island Gym Leader
